The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark II is an Indian rocket designed and operated by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). First launched on April 18th, 2001. It was primarily used to launch communication satellites into geostationary orbits. With a lift-off mass of about 420 tonnes, the GSLV Mark II is one of India’s most powerful rockets. It has had a successful launch record and played a key role in the development of India’s vast telecommunication network and space program.
