Commissioned to us by the Flight Instructors School of the Indian Air Force, this pop-art design on this coffee mug with yellow accents harks back to military and aviation posters from the 50’s and 60’s. The IAFs’ Flight Instructors School began on  the 01st of Apr 1948, its where instructors for the worlds fourth most powerful airforce are trained. They currently fly the Pilatus PC-7, The Kiran MK1/1A jet aircraft and the Alouette III chetak helicopter.

Designers note: Adip Mehta

The Theme for the design was easy, the retro aircrafts & the bright paint jobs pointed in one direction… pop art. I’ve been a long time fan of Roy Lichtensteins’ work & and it was great to finally get a chance to explore this with military aircraft. & of course, the flyboys of the IAF certainly loved the design as well!
